This premium bi-monthly, 260-page magazine is revered by architects and designers around the world for its fresh and unconventional approach.
The July/August issue has a musical flavour, as we look at La Seine Musicale, a new multi-faceted music venue in Paris, designed by Shigeru Ban and Jean de Gastines, which opened in April, and the 600-seat Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin, by Los Angeles architect Frank Gehry. There’s also a beautifully photographed feature on Renzo Piano’s arts foundation, converted from a vast, derelict pre-Soviet power station in the centre of Moscow.
Amanda Levete’s massive new exhibition space for London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, a series of artists’ bothies in Scotland by Bobby Niven and Iain MacLeod, a creative workspace in Lisbon from Madrid-based practice SelgasCano and this year’s Serpentine Pavilion by Burkina Faso-born Diébédo Francis Kéré complete the picture.
